    Anthony Harbinson - Immediate past president

    Elected to Council: 2007

    Anthony has a wealth of experience in the public sector. He's currently the director of safer communities in the Northern Ireland Department of Justice and his previous roles include senior assistant director of public prosecutions and finance director in the Northern Ireland Health Service.

    A long-standing figure at ACCA, Anthony was president in 2014-15. He's been vice chair of our Global Public Sector Forum since it was set up in 2010. His other roles include being a member of our International Assembly, president of ACCA Ireland and chairman of the ACCA UK Public Sector Network.

    He was also chairman of the UK Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) in 2013-14.

    Ayla Majid

    Elected to Council: 2014

    Ayla is CEO of CAMCO (Pvt) Limited, a capital markets and advisory company. She also heads the Business Advisory portfolio at Khalid Majid Rehman Chartered Accountants. Prior to these roles, Ayla was an investment advisor for commercial/industrial projects for one of Pakistan’s largest trusts, Fauji Foundation.

    Presently, she is an elected director on the board of ISE Real Estate Management Company Limited. Ayla is also a member of Board of Governors of the Helpcare Society, running schools to provide privileged education to under privileged children.

    In addition to ACCA qualification, Ayla holds MBA degree from Lahore University of Management Sciences and LLB (Hons) from the University of London. Ayla is a recent graduate of Harvard Kennedy School completing the Global Leadership and Public Policy for 21st Century module.

    In 2015, the World Economic Forum honoured Ayla as a Young Global Leader.

    Belinda Young

    Elected to Council: 2009

    Belinda is into her third term on Council and she is still the only female Council member to have served from Singapore. She runs Centrecourt Group which has businesses across 18 countries and in more than 20 industries. She previously worked in a Big Four accounting firm and at the largest property developer in Singapore, responsible for building the tallest building in the country.

    In addition to her ACCA service, Belinda sits on the finance committees of a number of large and medium-sized charities. She also sits on ACCA's Global Forum on Taxation and Global Forum for Business Law.

    Australia

    Brendan Sheehan

    Elected to Council: 2014

    Brendan is the managing director of White Squires, a company that specialises in Back Office Transformations. He has worked with business leaders across the public, private and government sectors in Ireland and Australia for nearly 25 years.

    His clients in Australia include Colliers International, Jones Lang LaSalle, Brisbane Airport and Queensland Government. Before moving to Australia in 2005, Brendan's clients in Ireland included Avensis Pharmaceuticals, TNT, the Office of Public Works and the National Museum.

    From 2011-14, Brendan was a member of our Australia and New Zealand members' network, which he chaired from 2012-14. He was also part of our International Assembly.

    Brian McEnery
    Deputy president

    Elected to Council: 2006

    Brian specialises in corporate restructuring and healthcare consulting, and is currently a partner in BDO Ireland. He's also a non-executive director of the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) in Ireland, and non-executive chairman of the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA).

    Over the years, Brian has been very active in ACCA. He first became involved with our Munster district network and Irish region levels, and he was part of the International Assembly for three years. He's particularly involved in governance matters and has been chair of the Governance Committee, Governance Design Task Force and Governance Design Committee.

    Datuk Alexandra Chin
    President

    Elected to Council: 2005

    Alexandra has been in public practice for 34 years and runs her own practising firm in Sabah, Malaysia. She was appointed a justice of the peace in 2009 and a member of the Commonwealth Magistrates' and Judges Association.

    An active member of the community, Alexandra has been on the Board of Trustees of Sabah Park and the Sabah Sports Board - she's currently on the Sabah Tourism Board. She has also been involved in a variety of organisations, including the Chairman of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (Sabah branch) and the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) Sabah branch.

    From 1999-2005, Alexandra was president of ACCA Sabah. She represented Malaysia in our International Assembly from 2003-05.

    Dean Lee

    Elected to Council: 2013

    Dean currently runs the finance operations of Starwood Hotels and Resorts in China as its regional CFO. Before this, Dean held various positions with Yum Brands - owners of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell - in China and US, including China controller, brand reporting manager and planning director.

    Prior to joining Council, Dean was an International Assembly member from 2009-11 and served as chairman of the ACCA Shanghai Steering Committee in 2011-12. In addition to his ACCA membership, Dean is a CICPA member, holds an MBA and a Bachelor and Master degree in Philosophy from Fudan University. His areas of technical interest are finance and general management.

    China

    Fergus Wong

    Fergus is a tax director at PwC in Hong Kong. Early on in his career, he worked at the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department. And before he joined professional practice, he spent 20 years teaching taxation and accounting in Hong Kong and in Australia.

    A committee member of ACCA Hong Kong since 2006, Fergus was its chairman in 2015-16 and co-chaired its tax sub-committee from 2006-13. He's also part of our Global Forum on Tax.

    Fergus is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Accountants and CPA Australia and a member of the Hong Kong Taxation Institute.

    Mauritius

    Hemraz Hoolash

    Elected to Council: 2007

    Hemraz completed his ACCA training in the UK and has worked at the State Trading Corporation (STC) in Mauritius since 1993. He's currently the risk and treasury manager, making sure that the STC operates on sound commercial principles. Hemraz also lectures at the University of Technology, Mauritius.

    He was president of ACCA Mauritius in 1999 and belongs to the Mauritius Management Association.

    Uganda

    Japheth Katto

    Co-opted to Council: 2012
    Elected to Council: 2015

    Japheth was CEO of Uganda’s Capital Market Authority for 16 years until 2013 and has over 30 years in companies and financial services regulation in the UK and Africa. Japheth served on the Board, Compliance Advisory Panel and Nominating Committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) for 10 years.

    Thereafter, he was co-opted to ACCA’s governing body, becoming the first ACCA member to be co-opted to Council in its history.

    His technical interests encompass insolvency, companies investigation, financial services regulation and corporate governance training. Currently an independent consultant on corporate governance and financial services regulation, Japheth also sits on boards of listed companies in Uganda and Kenya.

    Jenny Gu

    Jenny is the founder and managing director of PPG Management Consulting. She has over 20 years' experience in FMCG, sports and retail sector, working in multinational companies and private equity firms, including Nike and TPG Capital, and her career has spanned China, USA, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

    Jenny's expertise includes: general management, sales and retail, finance, strategic planning, and supply chain management. She has an Executive MBA from Kellogg-HKUST.

    John Cullen

    John is a partner at Menzies, where he heads up the corporate recovery and insolvency department in Cardiff. He works with SME businesses in South Wales and the South West of England.

    He became a licensed insolvency practitioner in 2001. He chaired the working groups that developed Statements of Insolvency Practice 2 and 3 and is working on 8, 10 and 12. He is also currently assisting the European Commission in the design of its new Insolvency regulations for 2017.

  • Joseph Owolabi

    Nigeria

    Joseph Owolabi

    Elected to Council: 2015

    Joseph is a senior manager at EY, where he leads the sustainability and integrated reporting offerings in West Africa. He delivers training programmes for ACCA students and members, as well as company directors on IFRS and other technical areas. He is a certified internal auditor and an information systems auditor.

    Joseph gained broad business experience when he trained and qualified with PwC in Nigeria, working across financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, and the oil and gas industries. His experience includes working on IFRS, SOX, corporate governance and integrated reporting in companies in Nigeria and across Africa.

  • Katerina Sipkova

    Katerina Sipkova

    Elected to Council: 2013

    Katerina started her career at Arthur Andersen, working for seven years in the Prague and London offices, gaining global exposure and valuable experience of the financial and hospitality industries. She later became CFO and director at Beneficial Finance, part of the HSBC group, and now owns and manages a private hospitality business.

    She's been a member of our International Assembly since 2010, and from 2007-12, she was part of the Czech Republic Steering Committee.

    Katerina specialises in corporate governance, finance and hospitality industries, equal opportunities programmes, and sustainable growth. She's also a certified internal auditor.

    Kenneth Henry

    Elected to Council: 2010

    Kenneth is associate professor of accounting at Florida International University in Miami, Florida, USA. He started his career at PwC in Jamaica and then in Miami, Florida before becoming internal audit manager for Miami-Dade County. He has also worked for the US Department of the Treasury as a consultant to the Saudi Arabia government.

    Kenneth is active, locally and internationally, with several professional organisations, including: the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the Association of Government Auditors (AGA), and the American Accounting Association (AAA).

    He gained his PhD in Business Administration in 2008.

  • Kholeka Mzondeki

    Kholeka Mzondeki

    Elected to Council: 2013

    Kholeka has worked in governance and financial management for over 20 years. She has experience as finance director and CFO for a number of corporate and blue chip organisations, including general manager of finance for 3M South Africa. In 2008, she was a finalist in the Nedbank/BWA Business Woman of the Year awards.

    She's now a 100% shareholder in Kohl M2, an independent business advisory service. And she's an independent non-executive director for Telkom SA, Aveng, and Balwin Properties, and recently ended her term at the United Nations World Food Programme.

    Her expertise includes financial management and strategy, and ICT transformational strategy.

    Kholeka was a member of our International Assembly for six years.

    Laura Perrin

    Elected to Council: 2008

    Laura has over 18 years' experience in financial consultancy and training. Before she set up her business, LP Training, she worked at BPP Professional Education and KPMG Romania - first as a financial advisor and then as learning development director. She also trained in organisations in Hungary, Romania, France and India as a freelancer.

    Laura was one of the first people to achieve the ACCA qualification in Romania. She was also our first member from Central Eastern Europe to be elected to the Council.

    Elected to Council: 2006

    Leo has over 25 years' experience in accounting, regulation and asset management. He's a director of asset management company Benington Capital Limited as well as being an independent non-executive director of three Hong Kong listed companies.

    Before this, Leo was a senior civil servant in the Hong Kong government. He also worked in a number of different roles in the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) Hong Kong, including director of corporate planning, director of licensing and director of finance and administration.

    Leo is a member of the Advisory Committee of the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has an LLB degree from the University of London and an MBA from the University of Hong Kong.

    Lorraine Holleway

    Elected to Council: 2013

    After starting her career in finance with small manufacturing companies, Lorraine has spent most of her professional life in the oil and gas industry. She's worked in various roles for Shell and is currently deputy controller and head of financial reporting in Qatar. She's previously been a group reporting business analyst and finance learning manager for Shell in the Netherlands.

    Lorraine chairs our Global Forum for Corporate Reporting.

    She specialises in accounting policies, financial reporting and process improvement.

    Lynne Hunt

    Lynne currently runs LAH Accounting Ltd, a company offering interim financial management services.

    She joined ACCA while she was working for Oriflame Cosmetics in Belgium. When she qualified, she took on the role of financial director at food safety company CMi plc. Lynne has worked at a variety of other organisations including Rentokil-Initial, Northern Foods, BOC Ltd, and Bicester Village and Kildare Village.

    Marcin Sojda

    Elected to Council: 2014

    Marcin is regional finance manager for Procter & Gamble, covering Europe, India, Middle East and Africa. His previous roles at P&G include CFO for Baltic countries and group finance manager for commercial operations in Central Europe.

    Marcin has been deputy president of ACCA Poland, and has chaired our Poland network. He's also a director at the Polish Institute of Directors, member of ecoDa.

    His expertise includes: corporate governance, commercial operations, strategic revenue and cost management, financial planning and reporting, capital management, project management, and ERP implementation.

    Marcin has a master's degree in finance and accounting from the University of Warsaw. Recently, he has acquired diploma in corporate governance for non-executive directors from Ministry of Finance in Poland.

    Mark Millar

    Elected to Council: 2010

    When he was 18, Mark turned down a university place to join the NHS and study for the ACCA qualification. Since then, he's held a variety of finance roles in the NHS and has been chief executive of a number of different NHS and public bodies. Mark is currently chief executive at St Elizabeth Hospice, Ipswich and a non-executive director of Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

    He's long been involved with our UK Health Panel and served on our International Assembly for two terms.

    Poland

    Marta Rejman

    Elected to Council: 2015

    Marta is the financial director special at Jones Lang LaSalle EMEA Finance Services Group. She is contributing to efficient operation and development of the EMEA finance organisation.

    Marta has spent five years as the director of the European Finance Centre, building the JLL Shared Services Operation for the EMEA region.

    Before that, she has held positions of CFO and deputy firector finance and administration at ING Lease both in Poland and Germany.

    She served five years on the board of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and was also a member of its Audit Committee and Finance and Planning Committee.

    Marta has a degree from Warsaw School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Calgary. She was a member of our first Poland committee in 2006, and has also been part of our International Assembly.

    Matilda Crossman

    Elected to Council: 2010

    Matilda is an executive director of the ExP Group, a UK-based education technology organisation delivering online professional qualifications courses on three continents.

    Matilda has worked in education and training for a significant part of her career. Prior to that, she has worked for PwC and Deloitte.

    Matilda is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Romanian Chamber of Auditors.

    Melanie Proffitt

    Elected to Council: 2015

    Melanie's experience spans several sectors, including healthcare, print and packaging, automotive, and heavy engineering. She now jointly runs Proffitt Consultants Ltd, a business that specialises in process improvement and change management. She previously worked as divisional financial director at Chesapeake Packaging and general manager within Spire Healthcare.

    Melanie has an MBA from Warwick Business School and a postgraduate diploma in sales and marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She's also a governor at South Leicestershire College.

    She's been part of our Leicestershire network panel since 2007 and was its president for three years.

  • Mohd Nasir Ahmad

    Mohd Nasir Ahmad

    Elected to Council: 2013

    Nasir Ahmad's accounting career started at Malaysia’s national power company, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in 1979 where he held various accounting and finance roles before becoming CEO of Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in 1994.

    He then joined SPK Berhad as CEO in 2000. From 2001 to his retirement in 2011, he was CEO of Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad, the national entrepreneur development corporation.

    He now sits as independent director on the boards of CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad, Bina Darulaman Berhad, Media Prima Berhad, MIMOS Berhad, SIRIM Berhad and Prokhas Sdn Bhd. He is also a member of the Board of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, the Listing Committee of Bursa Malaysia and the Board of Trustee of Yayasan Canselor UNITEN.

    Nasir Ahmad is a former president of both the ACCA Malaysia Advisory Committee and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

    Nur Jazlan Mohamed

    Elected to Council: 2014

    Nur Jazlan Mohamed is in his third term as a Member of Parliament in Malaysia. He's currently the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and was previously chairman of the Malaysia Public Accounts Committee.

    He's been a board member of a number of companies, including Prinsiptek Bhd, Jaycorp Bhd,Telekom Malaysia and Penang Port Sdn. Bhd. He was also chairman of UDA Holdings Bhd.

    From 2001-11, Nur Jazlan Mohamed was a council member for the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He was also a council member for the ASEAN Federation of Accountants at this time.

    Orla Collins

    Elected to Council: 2012

    Orla is chief risk officer and head of risk and compliance for Standard Life's operations in Ireland. She's responsible for the company’s operational risk, compliance and anti-financial crime framework, as well as the Irish legal and company secretarial functions. Before joining Standard Life, she held a number of senior roles within the financial services industry including at Bank of Ireland and Pioneer Investments.

    Orla is a qualified financial advisor and a member of the Institute of Bankers and the Association of Compliance Officers of Ireland. She's part of our ACCA Ireland members' committee, and was its president from 2010-11.

    Pauline Hobson

    Elected to Council: 2008

    A former finance director and business transformation director, Pauline brings a wealth of experience to our Council. She's held leadership roles at several multinational companies, including finance director at Azko Nobel Coatings, finance director at Serco and head of change management at Starbucks UK.

    Pauline is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and sits on the CMI's Finance and Audit Committee. She has an MBA from Oxford Brookes University.

    Robert Stenhouse

    Elected to Council: 2009

    Robert is a director of national accounting and audit at Deloitte, where he represents the UK on the company's Audit Technical Advisory Board. After starting his career in a six-partner practice in Southampton, Robert moved on to Deloitte, where he's worked for over 20 years.

    He chairs our Global Forum for Audit and Assurance and also represents ACCA on the board of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB).

    Ronnie Patton

    Elected to Council: 2014

    Ronnie initially chose to study for the ACCA qualification due to the flexibility it afforded. Prior to moving into education, he was employed in professional practice, consultancy and a variety of industries including distribution, retailing and financial services. He's been a senior lecturer in Professional Accounting Practice at Ulster University since 2003.

    Ronnie has broad experience in curriculum and course design, developing and delivering courses and assessment. He's been an ACCA examiner and coordinator in the past and he is a past president of ACCA Ireland.

    Rosanna Choi

    Elected to Council: 2011

    Rosanna is a partner at professional advisory firm CWCC.

    She's active in her community. In addition to being a council member of Hong Kong Baptist University, she - together with the other directors of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited - won the Directors of the Year Award from the Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2013. She is also the Chairperson of its audit committee.

    Rosanna has been appointed by the Hong Kong Government as a member of its Business Facilitation Advisory Committee, and a member of the Board of Inland Revenue in last two years.

    She's been part of our Hong Kong committee since 2002 and was chairman from 2010-11.

    Steve Bailey

    Elected to Council: 2011

    Steve is the managing director of AIM Proactive Ltd. After qualifying and obtaining a practising certificate, he entered the commercial sector. He has 40 years' experience in large corporates and SMEs, specialising in technology, business transformation, start-ups and sustainability.

    In 2002, he established Background Checking plc, which he sold to Experian in 2007. He's also held senior roles at Reed, Sage, Apollo and G4S.

    He is an active investor and NED, and is regularly published on a broad range of commercial matters. He also maintains an active engagement within the eucation sector.

    Susan Allan

    Elected to Council: 2015

    Susan is finance director for Willerby Holiday Homes, a privately owned business in the UK of 70 years' standing. Before this, she was head of finance at DFS, where she led the commercial business partnering team and also helped float the company on the UK stock exchange.

    In 2010, she joined our Hull members' panel and from 2012-14, she was part of our International Assembly.

    Susan's expertise includes: strategic planning, performance improvement, change management and people development.

  • Taiwo Oyedele

    Nigeria

    Taiwo Oyedele

    Elected to Council: 2011

    A leading authority on tax, Taiwo is a partner and West Africa tax leader at PwC. He wrote Insights on Taxation & Fiscal Policies, The Top 50 Tax Issues in Nigeria and The IBFD Nigeria's Transfer Pricing Chapter. He also contributes to the World Bank's annual Doing Business report, PwC’s Paying Taxes publication and Worldwide Tax Summaries. He's a blogger and regular speaker at local and international conferences.

    He's the dean of the Direct Taxation Faculty of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and a member of the Nigerian Taxation Standards Board.

    Taiwo is a fellow of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative and a member of the Corporate Governance Society of Nigeria. He's also the founder and president of Impact Africa Foundation.

    A partner at Friel Stafford, Tom specialises in corporate and personal insolvency and corporate finance. He has over 20 years' experience in leading financial institutions, including EY, AIB plc, Banque Internationale a Luxembourgh (Dexia) and Chase Manhattan Bank.

    Tom is one of Ireland's most experienced corporate recovery and turnaround practitioners, and was one of the first personal insolvency practitioners licensed in Ireland. He has a diploma in Forensic Accounting, is a certified mediator and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.

    Tom was president of ACCA Ireland from 2012-13 and was a member of our International Assembly from 2012-13.
